Creating a brand identity for a new business start-up.
About.
Cardinal Yacht Care is a premier yacht detailing and maintenance provider, serving all marinas along the South Coast and Solent - from Lymington to Chichester, and including the Isle of Wight. Their comprehensive services range from routine washdowns to advanced machine compounding, polishing and waxing of hulls and topsides.
Challenge.
As a new business start-up, business owner Andrew enlisted our help to create a brand identity for his venture, including a logo, website and other branded assets to promote Cardinal Yacht Care’s services and to convey their brand image as professional and reliable, delivering excellence and attention to detail.
Solution.
We created a brand identity and logo to reflect their company ethos and then carried this through in their newly-designed website and branded assets. The colour palette of yellow and black was chosen to correspond with the colours of cardinal marks. The use of black also helps to convey the brand image as smart and professional, along with the bold choice of typeface.

Logo Design.
The client wanted to draw inspiration for the logo from cardinal marks, which are used to indicate the safest and deepest water for vessels to navigate. We therefore used a colour palette of yellow and black to correspond with those colours. The use of the downward facing triangles/arrows mirror those found on the south cardinal mark, to represent the south coast location of their business.
Website Design.
Produced in line with the brief of delivering a professional, friendly and easy to use website to showcase their services. The newly-designed brand logo, typeface and colour palette were applied consistently throughout the site and the layout was simple and easy to navigate. The website was also futureproofed, to allow the start up business to expand it's digital footprint as the business grows.
Mobile Design.
As a high proportion of users would be likely to access the website on a mobile device, the mobile version of the website was carefully designed to ensure that it provided users with an easy, functional and engaging user experience across devices.

Business Card Design.
Using the Cardinal Yacht Care brand style, these business cards help create a strong first impression when promoting their new business within the local community. They create an immediate impact and showcase their bold, professional brand identity.

Leaflet Design.
Printed A5 leaflets designed in the bold new brand style to distribute around the local community to promote Cardinal Yacht Care’s new business and advertise their core services. A QR code was included to drive traffic to the new website.

Loyalty Card & Stickers Design.
Using the Cardinal Yacht Care brand style, these loyalty cards help to drive repeat business and establish customer loyalty. The corresponding stickers to be used on the cards make use of the logo icon to carry through the brand identity.
Social Media Templates.
To promote Cardinal Yacht Care on social media platforms, these branded templates ensure a consistent and professional online presence whilst showcasing their services, special offers, examples of their work and customer testimonials. They are a great way to increase their brand awareness and drive traffic to their website.

We created a brand identity to convey the business' core ethos of professional and reliable. This branding was consistently applied across the range of digital and print promotional materials and branded assets to help establish and promote Cardinal Yacht Care as the premier yacht detailing and maintenance provider across the South Coast and Solent.
